| Cubby fridge, plug and play with any year? |

Hello all,
I have a 2006 Discovery 3 S. No armrest fridge at present and I’d like to upgrade to have it. I understand on later models that this is plug and play, but was this the case as early as 2006? Just wondering at what point the fridge was offered and the wiring would be present. I want to do it, but not if it involves loads of work beyond plugging in!

Yes it is plug and play, I pulled one out of a 2010 and it plugged right into my 05 v8. Very easy install.

Oh and my lr3 is a SE, while the fridge came out of an HSE.

Be aware there are at least two types Discovery 3 and 4 - possibly more, if you also include the versions with cutout for wiring for the in armrest USB/audio.
A D4 fridge plugged into a D3 will flatten the battery if left on after the car shuts down and goes to sleep whereas a D3 fridge doesn't do this. Also the Range Rover Sport fridge is interchangeable with the D3 and D4 of the same age range. Must stop buying shiny toys....

Just make sure you get a D3
one not a D4 one as the D4 doesn’t shut down when ignition goes off if fitted to a D3.
When you come to for the wiring plug is normally a little elusive to find and is usually wrapped in a bit of foam. Once found it is a fairly quick job to fit from memory about 20 minutes MY17 D5 1st Edition Namib Orange
MY15 D4 HSE Kaikoura Stone
MY12 D4 HSE Nara Bronze Sold and gone
MY11 D4 HSE Stornaway Grey Sold and gone
D3 S spec Silver Sold and gone
Tow bar, full length roof bars, side steps, tow bar storage unit, surround camers.
