Autel Bluetooth diagnostic scanner - works okay for 50 quid
I was looking for a half decent code reader for a while, and was not willing to shell out 400 quid on one
I bought this autel MaxiAP AP200 scanner for about 50 quid
I will share my findings here as i test it over the next few days.
I have no affiliation to Autel at all, it would appear to be a China based company
Today i just played about with it, getting it setup, registered on there site, downloaded the landie software and ran a few basic tests:
Read and cleared codes
Emptied Air bags, and then tank
looked at live data
Pictures explain things better, most are screenshots from my phone today.
I will add to this post when i test further
Question and or thoughts welcomed

So you will have a second device for not to use?
TBH i see the potential of this AUTEL device for specific drivers/owners, but not as an add on to a IID
or do i miss something..Best regards
Harold

Not only D3/4, but looks to do (what you can anyway) the original disco and d2
And my wife’s qashqai, and mates vw transporter ....
Ok, it’s a subscription model to access the relevant vehicle specific modules, but there is a lot of flexibility in there for the DIYer
Great find @JensenEverest

Mines playing up at the moment. Low range light flashing abs light transmission fault. Would be good for this kind of fault or useless? Thanks.

Your right, just to own 1 really for other info if it doesn’t serve my purpose.
I’ve got my disco up and running at the moment, with no special programs and no low range, but everything else is functional, this was done by disconnecting the wire from my high and low range motor from the transfer box.
Once I connect that back, faults come back.

There is nothing for the transfer case or manual gear box that i have seen, but i have only played about with it so far. If it is ABS causing the other faults it should find a code at least.
It is definitely basic in comparison to the gap diagnostic.

I had a look on their website, but I couldn't figure out if each license purchased is locked to the car, or type of car.
If I bought one and used it on my D3, could I also use it on my friends D3.
anyone know?David

As has been said it’s no GAP but at a tenth the price it’s damn good value. Probably suit casual users very well!

You should be able to use it on the full landie range, d1,d2,d3,d4 range rover defender etc etc
You get one free licence with your purchase then each other vehicle manufacturer is a further purchase.
