Australia 2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 S Auto Chawton WhiteDiscovery 3

Hi My D3 had a somewhat similar but not so serious issue a while ago with an intermittently failing knock sensor on one bank of cylinders, and the vehicle does have an anti stall system. The poor knock sensor caused idle instability as well and from a standing start would regularly near stall then catch itself. took 2 visits for the dealer to isolate the fault, 12K ago now no further problems.

Possibly the torque converter, filled with a viscous oil that loses viscocity with age, locking/unlocking.
