| multi height towbar recall |
|
just had the D3 back from dealer to sort out leaking sunroof ( FOC replacement of blocked drain tube even though out of warranty - Ottons of Salisbury )
But as part of the check over they replaced the plate on the multi height towbar as a recall, however now the Maxxraxx bike rack bracket that they took off doesn't fit as the bolts are too short.... anyone else had this happen? Reason being, the OEM bolts don't appear to be standard, shouldered washer etc. I can get std 8.8 HT bolts but would have to use Std washers.. just wondering if anyone has found longer versions of the originals??
thanks in advance

Al TDV6 XS Auto - Lugano Teal with Almond Leather, 20" Stormers, Shiny Tailpipes, DVD/TV, BAS Electrickery - and obligatory D3 sticker
Old - TDV6 S - Tonga with Ebony, 20" Stormers, satnav & DVD

The hex flange bolts and nuts can be replaced by the same grade standard bolts with washers. Hex flanges just cut down the chance of the washers being left out. and are no doubt cheaper.
There will be a few letter on the bolt head such as AAF or BUL these refer to the manufacture the 8.8 or 10.9 is the grade as you know.
If you let me know what length you are looking for I will get some one to have a look whats on site, however we process in the region of 2000 tons of bolts per week so unless we have a part number it's a bit like a needle in a haystack Formerly shiny moose
