I had a pesky Hilux run in to my (stopped) D3. Amongst other things the headlight case had a very small crack in it. It cost over $2000 for the headlight assembly (Aussie is about the same as Loonies). If you check CFB's posts, he started with something 'orrible like valve grinding paste and worked through many stages to finish with Silvo or jeweller's rouge or something very fine.
There IS a caravan window scratch removing paste which might even be finer still.
Apparently it is very scary at first, creating a larger patch of scratches, which ends up polished as shiny as the original.
