D3 LR Service..
My brother in law's father's car has just gone into LR reporting: Failure of parking brake.
Car is under warranty still, has around 17800 miles on the clock, and is literally hardly used, only the family wagon for trips away etc.. is a Dec 55 plate..
After having it all day: They have sent it back having carried out the following work:
Rear Discs, Brake Pads, Shoes..
And a fat bill for: £506.00
Hmm i just rang them enquiring what the work was done, and if they can fax me the job sheet/invoice.. the guys approach to my call was a little suspicious, and he passed it to the service manager who has said he will fax me the sheets over in a minute. Have someone i know at LR making enquiries on this, and he knows the DP at this showroom..
The guy who this car belongs to, is mid 60's and is very trusting and relatively wealthy.
I just feel before he's been taken advantage of on invoices etc, so hence why he's querying this with us.. but just wanted to guauge your opinions on this.. would you pay this or would you query this?
Cheers in advance..
Invoice has just landed: States work carried out as above..

Is the down turn starting to bite and are dealers looking for work. I've just heard of a dealer saying wipers needed replacing - the dealership only did it in December and the car covered about 3K miles since. DS3 TDV6 HSE - Silver with Alpaca (old one) Gone

Some interesting responses to this on rrsport.co.uk
FYI in case anyone else comes across this..

In particular.
Basically seems like part of the brakes have been rubbing as the cars been going along, causing parking brake failure with only 17800 recorded miles.
We are taking this further with LR.

Did the e-mail that you received come from the dealer or LR Customer Services?
However they shouldn't be covering the costs due to the time it's been with them.....the costs would be covered by LR, not the dealer, and then only in the case of it being a warranty job.....the e-mail itself is misleading as though they've took a hit themselves to help him out.
Glad that he got it sorted 2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE Auto Buckingham Blue
