Anyone with a similar problem to this.
Intermittent but sometimes it will not idle on start up, as soon as you take foot off the gas it just fades away. Need to keep over 1000rom for at least a minute before it will idle.
Engine download tune perhaps, another trip to the dealers I fear. TDV6 2004 Auto Zambezi Silver Badged SE not quite an S with Nav & Rear DVD

Your mapping appears to have gone to pot or the fuel feed is defective. I go for the software. To the dealer sadly and put in an EPQR.

Thanks guys, irritating when it happens but does not appear to effect anything else. I guess another two days at the dealers then as there seems to be a general problem here with time taken on diagnostic equipment. Reckon dealers are going to have start installing more than one bit of equipment. TDV6 2004 Auto Zambezi Silver Badged SE not quite an S with Nav & Rear DVD

PJ, there is a service bulletin regarding engine running issues on Land Rover GTR. It involves replacing the engine wiring wiring loom. This may be your problem.
The revs on mine sometimes dip momentarily when its cold, but it never stalls.

Interesting, my engine cold running is getting worse, it is fine when warm, but the idle is all over the place on a cold start. After about 2 minutes, it settles OK, but until then, the revs will drop to the point that the alternator warning lamp comes on, then it recovers, then drops etc. Because its an auto, it makes it very difficult to drive initially. When you say engine mapping download, is that an ecu update or new wiring loom?
Whats this about sunvisor clips, I keep smacking myself in the head with the visor whenever I raise it, the clip that holds the visor in is very weak.

Hello Gareth, No harness replacement, software issue. Mine got worse with colder weather & would not run at all unless you kept the revs up for at least a minute or so & then would settle down, yes difficult with auto so you have to get use to some handy foot work!. Weak clips on the sun visor & like you say keep comming out when raised so got them replaced & EPQR done. TDV6 2004 Auto Zambezi Silver Badged SE not quite an S with Nav & Rear DVD

Cheers, I smell a short trip to dealer after new year is over. The engine was fine today, not a hiccup, which makes me think mine is likely to be a faulty engine loom causing bad connections. Are the new sunvisor clips any stronger?

Yep mine was like that, the colder weather just made the difference. Are the sunvisor clips any stronger! well the visor has not popped out yet, but can't help thinking it's just cause there new, they certainly look the same. Will know in twelve months I guess. Gareth, Just noticed your post in Service Bulletins re: TSB on cold start issue. What is a TSB, technical Service bulletin?. Vehicles back into dealers Monday with same problem. They reconfigured ECU last time I reckon it may be time to renew it. TDV6 2004 Auto Zambezi Silver Badged SE not quite an S with Nav & Rear DVD

TSB = Technical Service Bulletin. I have not read the detail, but there is a TSB on the GTR website (Land Rover Global Technical Reference) http://www.landrover.com/gb/en/Owners/Owne...erview.htm
The number of the TSB is LA303-001 also LA303-004 refers to diesel engine running issues.

The problem referred to relates to a fuel temperature sensor issue that is cured by a software upgrade.
