| LF170's in Grill Option 1 or Option 2? |
|
OK, so been playing about with Gareth's pic of the LF170's installed. As you may know, I'm planning on installing them in the Grill ala Christyler.
I have everything I need for it now, just weighing up the most suitable location on the front.
So I have two options (well three I guess) but here's two
Option 1 - Very Close together, set on long range
Option 2 wider in a more traditional space, but not so wide that I have to remove the LR badge on the front Grill
Option 3 - Go wider & forget about the LR badge
All comments, good bad or indifferent, gratefully received
EDITED to show Option 3. Anyone change their mind from Option2? Think my pref is still Option 2.... How To ? - Change your Brake Disks Pads Shoes Sensors August 2011 NEW V1.6a

Option 2 gets my vote as it gives a balanced look at the front there. I think any wider and it will look as if something is missing in the middle. POT NOODLE NAVIGATION CHALLENGE 2010 WINNER

How are yu going to mount them? Have you purchased a gen kit or fabricated something else? I'm in the same boat as you. I have a pr of 170's to go on the front. Plus a pr of 140's spare, not sure wether to mount them outside the 170'sa or bung them up on the rack Looking at your pics I think the close together option is too close. Looks very strange. I like the second pic. Seems very balanced. HONI SOIT QUI MAL Y PENSE

You could always reposition the LR badge to the middle of the grill
I am sure that whilst you are cutting the grille to bits, you could transpose the section of the grill that has the badge, and mount it in the centre.
IMO close together looks pants. Option 2 makes me think Series 2 Club 18 - 30 (I wish !!)

Problem solved!
How about 1 x light as Option 1
and 1 x light as Option 2
Maybe I should become a world peacekeeper?
If I could think of anything intelligent, poignant or witty, I'd put it here !!!

To be fair, you need to photoshop a pic of Option 3.
I'd have the side of the lamps coming to the inner edge of the vertical grille surround.
Go on, give it a go, you know that's the best look?
ps. or Option 2 - with an 'A' frame If I could think of anything intelligent, poignant or witty, I'd put it here !!!

Option 4 : 4 lights as in Gareths photos. Too much intellectual firepower can damage your common sense.
