In car and portable DVD's
I'm looking for a DVD player for my 8 year old and was curious as to what others use. I read with interest the thread about the armrest DVD player fitted by a couple of members but was a bit put off by having to purchase it from China. Knowing my luck it would break in the first 2 minutes and I would have the hassle of trying to get a replacement. Is there anything else worth a look or is it a case of getting something that hangs onto the headrest? You may have gathered that I don't want to spend fortunes on an all singing and dancing entertainment system, just something for long journeys that looks reasonably neat and tidy.

I used to have a playstation with 2 x screens hung over headrests and LOTS of cables floating around the car.
Reason for getting D3 was to allow all 4 kids to come in the car, and that made me think - should I take the 2 screens and try to hang them between head rests on 2nd and 3rd rows?
Solution driven from requirements (sounds like a project!), in that with 2 brothers in the car, a decision could be made on which film to watch, but with 4 kids in the car, including boys and girls, there was NO WAY a decision to watch Narnia vs High School Musical would be made.
So.....solution was to buy 4 x portable DVD players so they can all have their own screen and film choice. Managed to get then for about £55 each, so were kids Xmas presents. Using with headphones is a must, and a 200 mile journey will be made tonight on this basis....wish me luck!

Yup, that works well for us, 1 x twin screen DVD for when more than one of them wants to watch the same film, 1 x personal DVD and 1 x laptop for Autoroute (eldest lad likes to tell me what route we're doing ) and associated games etc etc etc.
I have some long velcro strips to hang the screen between the two front seats which whilst not the most aesthetical solution, it did the trick down to Tuscanny and back
And yes, headsets are def a must!!!!
Talking of headsets, does anyone have any links to low cost full over ear headsets?Bodsys Brake Bible
