Lack of Light Failure Warning
Does any body else have an issue with this - I find it a bit strange that this sort of car doesn't have a failure warning on the display - I've only got the S version, do other models have this feature? Or is their an upgrade of some description?

No it doesn't, yes it's strange - probably not implemented due to 'time to market' constraints - but then again, be thankful it's not there to 'bing' and 'bong' at you every time the auto lights come on with a failed lamp
alternatively, use the magic of 'eyes' to check them now & again

I'm too used to things that go bong unfortuately - just the same way I can't be arsed switching on and off headlights and windscreen wipers any more - god how I've changed.

I had lamp out warnings on mine (I know it's not D3) it even displayed which unit, unfortunately it was park lights built inside the HID units; so I left them. A week later everything went back to normal.
and this is not the first time it's happened...so how can it fail then later work???

The ends of the broken lamp filament can touch together as the car goes over a bump and weld themselves together.
Or it could have just been a poor connection in the lamp holder..

Wait til you have a brake bulb go, then you get all sorts of weird and wonderful symptoms to work with
If an indicator bulb goes you get the dash repeater going beserk when indicating to that side so thats kind of covered.
Just think though, if they had diverted development effort into a bulb failure system then the EPB might be even worse than it is Cheers
