It was the right selection ! |

After all those sad horror stories, time to say praising words: my disco 3 model 2006 S is a great car, really pleasure to drive and I definitely do not regret my selection. Likely that noisy Land Cruiser with oldfashioned engine and japanese styled interior would had been pain every day. Better to have Disco 3 that is great > 95 % of time.
It has worked fine now for 2 weeks, no single error message or any problem at all. Just superior driving experience !
Before there was some minor, expected issues but that's normal for new models:
1. cardan axle broke down, into 2 pieces
2. handbrake failure
3. suspension failure
4. total loss of power
I assume that the issues 2, 3 and 4 were fixed with SW update to main unit and to suspension. I have also got a new compressor.
Offroader -- too many modifications made to my Disco 3 to be listed in here --

Offroader, the software issues you mention would be fixed with a single update, the park brake and suspension errors are a symptom of an EGR and air mass / temperature sensor issue with the engine ECU, the Cardan shaft / driveshaft - just plain old bad luck
A lot of weight is put behind repetitive issues, but to be honest, i'd rather have a software update to fix faults than have some greasemonkey ripping my new car to bits!
Glad the perma is spreading to Finland!
