Which balance weights do you use then Ken? as you have said, stick on ones fall off easily, hammer on ones wreck the rim , and I think the original clip on ones as fitted from new can at least be fitted and removed without damage, with a bit of care, but I haven't seen these used by the usual tyre (wheel butchering) outfits

I'm not Andy, but a user of various types of balance weights over the years.
I've never had a stick on come off provided the rim is properly cleaned and "primed" before the weight is stuck on.
I've had clip-ons become clip-offs all too often, and too many nice rims damaged by them being hammered on/off by a moron (and had a new rim from a well KKnown high street outlet that was well butchered by a who's fitter was a lot less than competent). Rob Smith

We use what ever is best for the application circa 100 tyres/wheels a month
I prefer Clip ons yes they can mark the rims however we use stick ons alot caus our drivers use their wheels as parking sensors
