Confirmation needed please Timing Belt change |
|
Chaps was in a garage this morning and they advised as my car is on 99k klms almost the timing belt would need changed. They said they had checked this and that I was incorrect in saying it should be changed at 105 k mls .I know for a fact it should be 105K mls that change is done . I argued this with the garage thanks to you chaps I had the knowledge . So am I right 105K miles is when change should be done? Its scary to think that these guys might be doing the timing belt prematurely!

Chaps,
105k is the maximum mileage allowed before the replacement.
This will also depend on how the vehicle is driven.
Any mileage between 80k & 105k is totally acceptable, although i've seen them snap at 60k.
So in reality, it's wise to get the cam belt replaced before 105k.
