locking fuel cap?

Having purchased first diesel for new disco today I noticed fuel flap has no lock nor has cap. This is a disappointment. Can you get a lock fitted?

The fuel flap has an electrically operated lock that is linked in with the overall central locking system.

When you say no cap... you mean you don't have the yellow 'child proof style' clicking cap ??

That is worrying.

Thanks for putting me right guys. Why did i doubt LR would not provide electronic lock.

Simon -yes it has the yellow cap. I was thinking it should also have a key lock.

United States

FYI: In North America, our fuel door does not lock. It was decontented here. However, fuel can not be siphoned... there is a screen in the way. (But since our fuel doesn't cost as much as a fine wine here, who really steals gas?)

It's feels a little "cheap", but at least it is one less thing to break... Rolling Eyes

That's interesting, it doesn't lock the flap etc on my SE even though the central locking is applied. Is this a falut or do you think that the spec changed (my D3 was obtained lated last year)?

Must be a fault I would think.
Isn't it law in the UK that the filler cap is lockable?

You have a fault I'm afraid.

Mine was exactly the same. The dealer had it for two days and eventually found out it was the Central Junction Box (CJB) and I had to wait 2 weeks before the part came. It's okay now.
