Roof Rack Gurus - I Need Your Wisdom!

First time I've ever had roof bars, so sorry for the stupid questions.

My Rhino Mesh Oz Tent basket arrived today. Fitting it now. I have posistioned the crossbars as per Landrovers 750mm apart rule, with the first bar locked into the first available 'gap' in the rails. Over hang on the front in 70cm and at the back 65cm. About as equal as I can get it.

So my questions

1) Are my crossbars all in the right place, does everything look OK?

2) Is there a right way or a wrong way of where you put the brackets? The picture shows where I plan on putting the brackets. Is that correct?

Want to make sure I do this right so any help appreciated Thumbs Up

The clamps to connect the basket to the cross bars look a bit on the basic/thin side though Confused

Hi SJR,

The U bolts are Rhino Rack S280

http://www.rhinorack.com/AccSubCategory_St...98_10.aspx

Supplied by BOAB with the basket.

You reckon I should try and find something more heavy duty?

Thanks

Steve

If rhino rack are selling them as Ok then I am sure they are absolutely fine, the pictures perhaps do not do them justice Thumbs Up

After a few hours fiddling around, I found the basket felt abit more stable with the rear crossbar pushed further back. So here it is, all done. Now I just have to take it all off again as I'm not using the tent till next month! Big Cry Oh well all good fun Laughing
