United Kingdom 2005 Discovery 3 TDV6 HSE Auto Zermatt SilverDiscovery 3
Wanted : Disco 3 towbar and cycle carrier

Want to carry 4 bikes (2 adult, 2 kiddie) seems to be only way is on towbar? Hence the need for towbar (and cycle carrier Maxxraxx preferably).

Does anyone have towbar for sale (I guess also need single electrics?). How difficult are they to fit?

Thanks

Quick release towbar takes seconds to fit (just plugs in), electrics take about 30 minutes. You just fit the sockets in place then thread electrics along behind the bumper and through behind the rear n/s light where they simply plug in.

Available on eBay, sometimes on here, or new from 'The Large One'

Does it "plug in" to plate which is already underneath bumper using some sort of bolt fixing?

First, find someone who has electrics in stock ... http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/topic34475.html?highlight=

The towbar slots into a hole already present in the rear bumper, behind the removable plastic cover. It locks in place by itself - there is a lever to remove it (with a key lock to stop someone else removing it for you).

I'm carrying the same number of and type of bikes and use this bike rack instead. Take a peek:
