I have spent a lot of time in most areas of the Highlands over the years and although you would think it would be good for off road driving i am lead to believe it is not.
Vast areas of the Highlands are either privately owned by estates who use the land for field sports like deer stalking of grouse shooting and they dont want you anywhere near their land with vehicles or owned by national park and out of bounds to off road vehicles in general.
Perhaps someone who lives local and knows the area better will be along with a different opinion, I would be interested myself, but I think the news will not be that good. I have something to say! It's better to burn out... than to fade away!
