Just a thank you to the forum. I was about to pay to have rotary coupling replaced, noticed forum entries detailing possible recall and following consultation with local dealer am having it fitted free tommorrow. Initially the dealer seemed un aware and they have informed me it may not rectify the cruise control problem (although my specialist tells me it will )so hopefully all will be well. Thanks.

are you sure they are fitting a rotary coupler ?
There was a service action Q45 which had some replacement parts for the coupler (rubber doughnut and some screws)
i cannot remember a recall to replace an actual coupler...
Ask to see the paperwork after fitting and if
YRC500080 then thats a coupler
QMB501300 then thats the repair kit Genuine Land Rover Parts supplier extraordinaire..
If you want it, i have it, if i don't have it, i can get it, if i can't get it, they don't make it.. All GENUINE LAND ROVER.
.
off now till monday 21st...see ya

Neither can I - that's what prompted me to ask the question....a recall is the probably the only way that they would do it out of warranty..... 2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE Auto Buckingham Blue

Apologies, you are of course correct, when I dropped the car off, I was informed a "repair kit" was being installed.
I have now got the car back and although I was informed there was no evidence of any damage/wear etc, the problem with the cruise control is now resolved. The dealer seemed to think this was coincidence which seems unlikely, I'm just happy it's now working.
Thanks

My freindly Landrover specialist has just quoted me £300 to replace rotory coupling. I'm crossing my fingers that my local main dealer is as helpful as yours
