| Met Police Event Surrey 2009 |
|
After a prompt by Phil Hunt myself and Bigcarpchaser to ourselves off to the Met Police Event near Camberley.
After speaking with the organiser I have managed to arrange us a private day on the site Details to follow.
The site is 100 acres of mixed Pine, gravel, mud, grass. Wide lanes, water runs (lots and deep )
Also the site has a great big 'drive' called Alpine. This is 2.7miles long and consists of 45 and 60 degree hills and hair pin bends. 70% is smooth gravel, 30% is rutty and bumpy.
Mud n Ruts, Low Range, Manual Box, HDC all working well. If your car is set up right, the D3 eats it all - much to the modified 90's disgust!!! as they could'nt get up a section and asked for tow!!!
A few pictures:
I could'nt hear what Gary was saying but I could deffo smell it!!! The photo doesnt really do the hill justice.....alas what went down, didnt come up!. I quitely reversed back and met him later on......
We went looking for short cuts - the bonus of this site, no where is out of bounds!
Again, the photo above doesnt show how high we climbed....
One of the very steep sections
A great day was had by all. Suitable for the novice and expert - lots of winching play! My Youtube Channel http://www.youtube.com/user/NeilDisco#p/u/5/Dz4-Q95GQ2c

Yeah, that was me. Good to meet both of you, that HDC fault I had didnt clear no matter how long I leave the car switched off. Also got no reverse lights unless its rocking back and forth across ruts. I know this is very off topic but where is the switch for the reverse lights on a manual? Could that being loose cause the HDC to fail?
Cracking site though lots to explore and very boggy in places after all that rain this morning, deffinatly got potential for a winch sessiion or two.

I was at TV 4x4 @ Broxhead.
Looks like you guys had fun.
I recognise the site though.
If I am correct the entrance is @ SU 906 607 Bagshot Heath.
The Alpine section is interesting.
Was there once and a Series 3 LWB suffered a failed hand brake, wet down one of the hills, lauched off of a track and into the trees.
The MOD Foden had to recover it from 8 foot up the tree!
Happy Days.
Non Stick I am a hob nobber.
