Check brake lamp still on |
|
hi, I have changed my brake pads, but the check brake lamp/message is still on.
I was told to change brake sensor, is that right? It's looks complicated to change the entire harness, does anyone has a shortcut?
Meanwhile, can i simply plug off the sensor to elimate the amber lamp?

If you changed your brake pads because the warning lamp was showing then you should have changed the sensor wire at the same time.
There are only two fitted - to the front left inner pad and to the rear right inner pad.
The sensor wires just plug in to the main harness, but you'll need to take the pads off again to fit the new wire.
If you just want to get rid of the warning lamp, then just cut the sensor wire and twist the ends together as a temporary fix until you can replace the whole thing. 2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE Auto Buckingham Blue
