Has anyone tried the new Palm pre on the D4? - I need to get away from the iphone -v quickly before I have a proper tantrum!! battery is flat by 2pm and the battery extender blocks the signal !!
I upgraded to an iphone 3GS and totally hopeless on the D4, wont switch calls and freezes so switched back to the trusted blackberry which works fully.
Also does anyone know how to get the blackberry to send address book via the names rather than by the numbers as all i get on the screen at the moment is the contacts numbers??

It's putting me off the I-phone. the thought of back tracking to an older software version seems wrong.

Yeah I agree, running old versions isn't an option for me. The belkin charger and fm transmitter is quite adequate really and is 50 quid. Added bonus it moves from vehicle to vehicle.
For a more permanent solution the various parrot systems are very good.

Or why not go Android ???
HTC Hero works very well, even has contact list support via the head unit showing ALL numbers for each contact.

Just picked up my LR4/D4 last night. I have a Palm Pre and it seems to work without any issues.

HTC Desire is the dogs b....s and works fine on the D4, although one member has had an issue. Everyone I have spoken to who has one says they knock spots of the i phone Tow bar, roof bars, side steps, tow bar storage unit.

Can you get the address book function to work with the Pre? Mine has the option greyed out.

Iphone 3GS and Iphone 4 are now fully compatible with D3\4 with Nav if the phone is using softtware version 4 and the phone module has the latest software in it.
If you dont have Nav but have BT, then you just won't get call lists.
All assuming it is factory fit, not accessory fit.

Does the last post under 'Address Book' some 20 odd posts down help?
