Did you change the background into a bit of a misty one? It appears you blurred it a bit in the first image...

Same treatment to both of them, background blurred and brightness and contrast increased after changing to black and white.
Also in the first one the flare round the lights is added by a photoshop filter.
Finally, the plate is my initials, hadn't thought of looking at it that way, but I like it!

Hi Stu,
As said I like the pics. The light effect is nice and the whole picture really makes the D3 really jump out whereas the background is not artificial.
For an even better result, you could cut the car out of the background and put that in a seperate layer. Really cut it out so that the car is not in the picture you will be blurring.
The result will be that the smudge around the car, caused by the blurring, will not appear. The image will be even more crisp.
