Don't you mean Passenger's side mirror... "Every government interference in the economy consists of giving an unearned benefit, extorted by force, to some men at the expense of others."

I was held up by something similar to this down a country lane today in Hampshire. We came upon a Nissan Navarra at almost 45 deg angle with two wheels up a banking. Alongside was a gritter, they were locked together side-by-side. Looked like the Nissan had tried to get past the gritter on this narrow country lane.
Anyway, the Navarra reduced it's weight by dumping a St Bernard, wife and kid before the gritter slowly moved off, ripping the roof bars and box from the roof of the Navarra, we watched this spectacle for 5 mins and then the Navarra managed to drive off the banking, when he came past us the damage was clear, the whole offside of the vehicle was damaged, bent and scraped badly, not a good day for the Navarra driver & family The gritter got off lightly with only a smashed driver window.
Don't mess with gritters !
