Re-maps and LR warranty
So for all who have D3's re-mapped and still within their warranty period how are you getting round it. I was under the impression that if your vehicle developed a fault (ie, turbo packed up) and you were re-mapped it wouldnt get covered under the LR warranty?
Are there any tuning companies that offer "invisible to LR re-maps"?

get a removable remap, simply revert it to standard as and when you want.

OK, I think I know what you mean as I have a Superchips Bluefin on my other car and even though I can de-select it prior to it going in the the main dealer they can still plug their wizzy machine thing in and detect its been fiddled with and on this basis invalidate any warranty claim I might have (car out of warranty now anyway so not applicable but you see what im saying)?

Not with my machine, the programme is removed and uploaded back to the box, the ECU will return to OEM spec

The problem with some of the other on/off tools out there especially the REVO sps is that to enable the switching it modfyies the data in the EEprom of the ecu and then uses a seperate part of the flash memory to load an extra set of maps which can be turned on and off by the Eeprom, by sending the Eeprom a command by OBD from the sps handset this inturn sends the message to the flash to turn the map on or off.
All we need to do to detect if this modification is installed on a car is plug in a REVO sps and depending on the lights that flash it will tell you if the sps is enabled on that car.
Hence why most VW dealers have a REVO sps in there tool box.
Its much simlar with the Superchips tool
The system i sell actually reprograms the engine ecu and does not touch and Eeprom or flash markers in the ecu , so when its off its off and back to how it was before.

Thanks MacLeod / Pete, this is sounding interesting.
So, if I go for BAS jobbie, what sort of power gain to I get on the TDv6 and whats the cost? Ive got 2 years & 3 months left to run on the warranty and I cant wait that long for a re-map so this sounds ideal!

Now I cannot answer the true figures as Pete offers different packages, I went for performance/economy. My D3 now has the grunt you would expect. Dont get me wrong the standard D3 aint no slow coach, but the remap gives more urgency to the pick up, kick down (as you have an Auto), and on mine I find it has a longer leg between 5th and 6th in Auto. My economy has gained approx 2-3 mpg, which aint bad IMHO.
Secondly, it can all be down with Pete over the phone and email, he is available on tech issues 24/7, and one hell of a gent.
