Chris, have you got an expo rack or thinking of buying one for use with a roof tent? A happy childhood ... is the worst possible preparation for life.

Or do you have your eye on a fantastic opportunity to purchase a "pre loved" tent from someone on this forum "you cannot teach stupid people to do clever things"

You know that "preloved" in this case might be more "loved" than you thought? They ARE expecting a baby you know. I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

You'll need to take the sides off then. Pretty easy to do. If you drill out the rivets on the plastic covers on the legs, the sides just screw off and it gives you the flat area you need A happy childhood ... is the worst possible preparation for life.

Been thinking about this myself. Could you not just put the transverse bars across the rack from each side and then mount the roof tent to these?
My G4 has one transverse bar fitted already was thinking get another and job done?
Next problem is clearing access ladder so is there a roof tent that comes out to then side rather than off the back??

You can change the runners on all rooftents to allow for side or rear opening "you cannot teach stupid people to do clever things"
