Bare in mind that most of these cheep high speed cameras gain the additional frame rate by reducing the actual picture size. For example, although that Casio can do 1200 fps it'll only do it at a very low-def size of 336 × 96 !!!

I believe there's a Photron high speed camera (as used a couple of time on Formula 1) that will now do more than a million fps!... (It's a bit expensive though!) Shocked

The red camera what that was shot on is an amazing camera. It is to replace "super 16mm' and "35mm" film stock as its all shot on hard drives!
The film i'm working on at the moment is shooting on this!

Also great video! Thumbs Up

Red have had the RAW video market to themselves for a little while, but we're starting to see even the established film companies coming out with quality big boy video cameras. The new ARRI Alexa produces stunning pictures and the HDSLR's like Canon 5D Mark II are all game changers in their own way.

I think we're starting to see the death of film in most mainstream production.

We used the 5D for some night shoots on the feature that i'm working on, its more sensitive than the current Red camera, but according to Red there new one is going to be even better!
I'll find a picture, but the 5D does look very odd on a proper camera body with the follow focus attached!

The present season finale of 'House' was entirely shot on Canon 5D markII's - there's a short tease of it here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yAaZZQhuyMo...r_embedded
It was also used on '24', the latest Walkers TV ads, and I've just shot a documentary about Coronation St. that went out on ITV1 this week with all with the 5D! - Not bad for a camera costing less than £2k.
The Canon does look odd on a big boy tripod but directors stop laughing when they see how nice the pictures look!!!

does look abit different to the normal cameras, but the results are fantastic and doesnt mean you have to over light everything at night.
