| hi can anyone help with a tow bar query |
|
hi i just found this site whilst looking on the net for a cheaper alternative to getting a tow bar and twin electrics fitted on my car. The local dealer wanted £600 or more for what seems to be a simple job. i think the electrics are plug and play ??. does anyone have a detachable tow bar for sale or know of one and is there anything tricky about fitting it yourself.
thanks mike

Hello from Canada.
While searching for diagnosis info on suspension compressors, I came upon this site.
I found it to be more informative than other Forums with practical solutions to solving problems.
I have been a Rover owner since 1980 with the usual problems associated with Electrics. The LR3 that I own has been the first LandRover LR3 SUV , prior to that it was FORD Expedition . SImply for the sake of kids and pulling large boats from Home to Cottage.
I love all that the LandRover has to offer in terms of comfort and ride but like others, I am troubled by reliability and cost of parts. Maybe, TATA will solve that dilemma .
I did find the thread on test running the compressor very interesting. A electrical schematic would be helpful for future use if someone has one in PDF .
All the best and if I find a post that I can provide valuable info, I willjavascript:emoticon(' ')

| Hi to forum and problem already! |

Hi to All
Just bought a disco 3 and encountered a problem - hope this isn't the start...Still got the series 3 if it all goes
pear shaped!
Problem is suspension. car has done 62,000 miles, one owner from new and always LR serviced.
Warning has come up saying suspension will only operate in the normal driving height?
Any ideas please most welcome.
Apart from that car seems very good. Benny

Hello Martin
I have owned my Disco 3 (6 speed manual from new since 2005) and sadly I have to part with it.
After years of children, Disco1, then disco 2 now 96,000 miles in disco 3 (some 1/4 million miles in disco's) my children have flown the nest, and I now have the desire to buy a smaller car.
Whats your thought on value etc and would it be of interest on this forum.
Thankyou - Dave

Just to say hi. Have been a disco owner for rather a lot of years, still have an elderly 300tdi Disco with over 200,000 miles on the clock which is a terrific workhorse, and carries animal feed (and animals), tows trailers, horse boxes and anything else. It is a little frayed round the edges, but starts each and every time fiirst time.
Have just sold my TD5, and am eagerly awaiting a new Disco 4 XS which is being delivered next week,
Reading through some of the posts, I was genuinely surprised at the amount of time that folks are having to wait for delivery.
I took the decision in the first week in August, and am getting the colour and full spec that I wanted. Maybe we are just lucky with an exceptionally good dealer and a salesman whom we have dealt with previously, and always goes the extra mile for his customers.
However, I do have a question, and am sure someone out there can help me. Having three dogs, its sometimes necessary to put the rear seats down, and I am wondering if in fact there is anyway that a dog guard/net can be fitted immediately behind the drivers seat to keep them in the back.
Can anyone confirm that the Disco 3 dog guard does indeed fir the Disco 4.
Many thanks

So I picked up my 2007 TDV6 HSE in Stornoway grey this morning, and the problem appeared almost immediately. When I got home it was so bad, my wife wanted to take me to the doctor, but as soon as she drove the Disco, the same problem appeared. I've read about it on this forum, so maybe someone can help - what can be done about the permagrin ?
Jokes aside, I picked up the Disco in Harrismith (about 300km from home) and had a blast driving it back home - loking forward to plenty of enjoyable and trouble-free kilometres ahead. Golf and hunting keeps you humble !

The normal Dog Guard only fits at the back of the 2nd row. What you need is the commercial cargo barrier which will fit behind the drivers seat. You may need to speak to Nene Overland or Lakeland Landrover as they both do Commercial conversions and should be able to help you out How To ? - Change your Brake Disks Pads Shoes Sensors August 2011 NEW V1.6a
Clubs MTR – MANTEC – RAI – Traxide – Engel - Tree Sliders
Club MSV2 - Multi-Vehicle
If you like a lot of chocoloate on your biscuit.....

I can update - Clock on Dash/4x4 Screen/3Flash Indicators/SatNav On The Move and other Software updates. Gearbox re-flash/reset etc.

Many thanks. I'm about 20 minutes from Nene Overland, so I will give them a call. Greatly appreciated, they may sit in he fron of the 300tdi, but they're not going to be in the front of the new one!
Any idea how it attaches?

Hello all,
After having numerous 4x4's over the years (mainly LR), I have eventually weakened and purchased a Discovery 3 HSE. Few mod's done already: RRS seats to replace the worn originals, smooth leather steering wheel to replace the sticky one, and some nice D4 20" alloys fitted with Cooper Zeon LTZ's! Looking forward to gettin it dirty now round the off road course at Land Rover Max this weekend . Hope to see some of you there!
Cheers, Chris.

Hi All
Inspite of being a Landrover man since 1992 and an IT professional until 2 years ago I had never gone looking for LR forums.
This morning whilst at a LR sponsored event I learned of your web site and rushed home to take a look.
Hopefully I will find enlightening - or at least learn that others share some of my LR frustrations.
Anyway, hello to all
