Hi
Just bought my first Discovery on Tuesday. Have been pleasantly surprised so far ( 30.8mpg at 80mph - Autobahn, your honour). Just need to get the rear PDC fixed. Thanks for all the useful threads which picked up a few issues during the buying process.

Hello everyone.
Day 1 of D3 ownership, updated from 00MY D2 ES to '05 MY SE Auto D3 and the difference is unreal
Added to the stable of '56 88" Series 1 and Tomcat mid engined Safari/Hill Rally racer. Something for every occasion?
Will be looking to update the satnav to latest stuff if i feel brave enough..........
just needs a Dog guard, towing stuff, seat covers and and and.....
Oh yeah and anyone know if you can get the silver trim on the edges of the side steps as a spare part ( I doubt it ) as previous owner seams to have taken a dislike to them!!

Hello,
I've just bought a discovery 3 from 2005, my first land. I'm glad to discover this site to talk with other owner's.
I'm searching for an electrical motor used to command the park brake. I can't find it trough Belgian dealers ("out of stock"). Anyone an idea?
Thanks.

Hi Martin/All
After 18 months of deliberation, i decided to invest last of my redundancy on a D3. V Good site, about to buy a bike rack, having researched here (won't take 18 months though) - can't believe there is only one rack that is designed for 5 bikes though...(on tow ball)... Maxxraxx...
Will be back once I have learnt to park... might be a while...

Hello,
I have just become the proud new to me owner of a silver 06 plate HSE Discovery with 47K on the clock, after a bad relationship with a TD5 and various other things I have finally, after much help from this forum, bitten the bullet and spent my hard earned on what I hope to be a keeper for quite some time. Compared to the old D2 this new one is light years ahead in how it drives and the levels of comfort and toys, I just hope her indoors and my 3 little ones don't trash it too badly while I'm away at work for the next two months, thanks to all you guys for the unwitting help you provided and help me know what to look for when it comes to the various idiosyncrasies of a D3. Foz. Its better to live one day as a lion than a lifetime as a sheep

hi ,ive been on the forum as a visitor for a while although my wife has had a 2008 d3 since nov 2009 which was ideal with all the snow and ice that we had back then.prevoiusly she has had 3 freelander 1s and a freelander 2 ,we are well pleased with the d3 although its not the most economical way to travel around the countryside.
will the club be at lro p/boro next weekend ?
i will be there with the freelander club(iam lincolnshire rep for the club)

Hi,
I've owned my D3 for 3 years, but only have joined the forum since developing a neurosis of imagined mechanical issues have plagued me. Having said that my D3 has been 100% faultless during my stewardship... there is a god!

Good Evening Ladies & Gentlemen,
I currently Run a Freelander 2, But my partner & I have bought a much larger Caravan weighing 2000kg (a lovely 24 footer) and will need a bigger car to pull it, The freelander has done well with our old van so will probably stick with the brand-and maybe even find a used but well looked after Disco on here

Hi,
Just thought I would say hello as I have joined having collected my D3 on Fri and, having driven it for 500 miles over the weekend (and seen absolutely loads of D3's between Wilts and Lincs and back) I am very impressed so far and it is a very tidy example. Bought from James French again as his vehicles always are.
This is my 5th Land Rover with a cycle of; 110 county TD5 - D2 TD5 - freelander TD4(I don't know why either) - 90XS TD5 - D3 TDV6 HSE.
Haven't towed yet but that is the prime reason for owning one and a bit of off road - 90 capability with comfort; must be getting old!!!
Only niggling issue is 'lines' which appear on the sat nav screen (screen fault or DVD fault - unsure) after warm up.
As its an HSE albeit an early one no real need for any mods although I would like to add in a phone connection kit if practicable, upgrade the Satnav to the latest spec map etc and some external protection.....
