Im collecting some info on a theory im working out regarding fuel economy gain AFTER D4s have had the assurance program done.
Has anyone worked out a figure gain in % and if so what does it show, im more thinking the % gain shown on the instrument cluster.
Or possibiley a % difference between tank to tank calculations V the instrument clusters calculation.

I've not noticed any gain in fuel consumption since the assurance programme work. I'd say that there was, to be honest, to difference at all.
Average (actual) stands at around 24.5mpg. The computer shows ~3mpg more than I am actually achieving, and the tank calculation shows that the computer is overestimating the MPG by 11.5-13.5%. The only thing I'd say is that the % overestimation appears to have come down a bit....it reached over 20% on one tank.
By way of comparison, my D3 Auto ran at about 10.5% optimistic and the D3 Manual only about 4%. Average consumption on the former was 25.72 MPG, and the latter 27.66 MPG, both over the period that I owned the vehicles.
The D4 does seem to be improving, and looks to be getting into the same range as the D3 Auto now.

Thanks Winger, Is it possibile i can have a copy of your CCF after your LR update. I want to compare some notes from other CCF's, i think we now have an added field related to a % tollarance for the MPG shown on the ipac and im trying to get my head round its why and wherefores.
If poss re send me both, before and after.

real world it has improved by 1-2mpg, but I think the warmer weather we are now having has effected that. Worked out I get 24mpg on last 3 tanks. Car has 10,000miles on. I only do knocking about, never really long runs Cars:- D4 3.0 GS and Evo X RS

My disco 4 sdv6 went in at 6k due to the boost flap staying open and little power upto 2k rpm. They fitted a new valve , flap, technical thing and re did the assurance programme.The following day i did a run and acheived 35,9 mpg !!!!!! on country lanes up to Durham  Being very sad I even took a photo for the sceptics.
Have done nearly 13k miles since the end of may and loved every minute.

from what I gather and I am usually wrong  my local dealer runs the program to ensure that the engine is performing as required. Also due to the type of mileage I am running( all motorway) they have a running in program followed by a second program for after the first service at 16k miles.
I did notice a good difference in the mpg. however only off the motorway and only running upto about 2-3 rpm?

I'm interested in this increased fuel economy after the assurance programme is done, we have terible fuel economy from our 2.7l D4, getting anywhere from 13l/100ks(22mpg) not towing to 20l/100ks(12mpg) towing our 1.4ton camper

After my Assurance Programme last year my economy improved (2.7 TDV6 D4 manual) and I get 7.1 l/100km on long runs. 59 D4 XS (2.7 TDV6 6 speed Manual) Commercial (UK spec) with extras such as Premium Navigation.
