Roof box or expedition rack?
I have looked at all the relevant posts but I still can't make my mind up.
(I think I might be indecisive but I'm not sure!)
Which would you choose and why?
All replies much appreciated.

I have both. I used a Thule foot pack and load carrying bars, so that I can fit my Evolution 2100 roof box on the roof (perfectly quiet on the road), OR, I can fit my Hannibal safari rack down over the Thule load carrying bars and then I have an expedition rack for spare tires, fuel cans, etc...

I have had a LR expedition rack on my car for some time now. To be honest it may look good but its not much use for carrying kit on a regular basis, the build quality is poor and even light weight ratchet straps will bend the rack before things tighten up . I don’t think it is designed for ‘industrial’ use.
I’m seriously thinking of going for a more robust design. I know the max SWL is 70kg so I suppose LR don’t need the rack to be made strong.

Thanks all for the answers. The expedition rack sounds good.
How easy is the exp. rack to fit or remove? Do you all leave the rack in place or just put it on when needed? How do you prevent items on it from being nicked if the car is unattended? And, finally, does it affect the economy much?
