I'd love to have the locking diff but fund won't allow yet to upgrade the car. Seems a good option to self fit. Think I may use your guide and start collecting the parts. Current:

Most off the time it will lock the centre diff first but I have also noticed in GGS (grass gravel snow mode) that it can lock the rear axle up while leaving the centre diff open. The diffs aren't just 'locked' or 'unlocked'; they can partially lock as well (called 'pre-loading'), depending upon conditions. The symbols will, however, only go red when they are fully locked ... Regards,

Lmarion, no I was n't in low range just GGS selected and playing in the street.
If both rear wheels were on ice the centre diff locked too. With my son looking at the wheels there was hardly any wheelspin. Roel

Stu wrote:Sticking it in rock crawl won't automatically lock the diff's up it just gets them ready so don't expect to stick it in rock crawl and see both or even one diff go orange.
Both mine lock instantly it goes into rock crawl if stationary. At least both light up orange instantly, they then go off or stay on depending on movement/traction that occurs. If I sit still they stay on. Tunisia 1 2 3
