just dont change babies nappies on the steering wheel, that should do it. I dont know what others get up to in their d3s but no one wipes their Rs on my steering wheel. There's one wheel on my wagon, but i'm still rollin' along, it's the cherokee, they're after me, but I'm singing a happy song

After dealer cleaned SW, the stickiness came back and replaced under warranty.

TLO has got a group offer on for new wheels at 120 quid or so. There was a thread on this a while back and eventually consensus was its a hard battle to get a new wheel if over 3 years old. Therefore saving my dealer good will for when my engine blows up And forking out for wheel myself.

The issue is that the covering of the original wheel is not leather hide, its called skim, its a slice of "leather" yes, but from the underside of the hide leaving the bit that you and I know as leather behind .
Look at the back of a quality leather belt and imagine trimming a fillet of the back.
This "skim" is then painted with a coating to simulate a smooth hide finish, once this coating wears through or deteriorates, its curtains.
Yes soaps, aftershave, hand cream, wipes and even leather treatments will deteriorate the finish.
There is only one solution, get a replacement wheel, ensuring that it is of course a "hide" covered one, or do as I and a few others have, get it professionally recovered (OK that's two options), but you get what I mean, replace it.
A full hand stiched recover will be cheaper than replacement, and you know the provenance of the hide used D3 TDV6 "S", Zambezi Silver, 7 Seats, Dual Climate, Heated F&R Seats & Screen, Fog's, Auto lights & Wipers, SAT NAV, Harmon Kardon, Cruise, Tinted Windows, Side steps, Roof Rails.
