Quick question - LR seem to be issuing various software updates for the D4 (eg. MY2010 Assurance stuff, the Satnav software etc.). If I get these the timed climate, 4x4 screen etc done, might they be undone by any future software updates from LR?
Thanks

bellautos wrote:For those who have taken this offer and now have the Timed Climate activated on your nav, here is a one off second change to upgrade even further.
I have 1 kit that gives you the remote control function to turn on your FBH remotley if you have not set the timer.
See pic attached.
This is a supply only kit and can be fitted easly by your self as plug and play behind the rear panal in the boot.
The cost of the kit is £200+vat with free uk delivery.
As you see the kit comes with the Genuine module, Landrover Remote plip, Antenna and fuel cap warning sticker.

If this is still available, I'd like to take it. I'll send PM.
Thx

Hi Pete
Do you have to set the timer each night or does it "repeat" after it's been set
ie would I have to set it each evening or could I set it once and it would heat/vent at the same time each morning?
Thanks

From memory it only needs to be set once. After that it should continue to operate. However if the car is not strarted within a specific time it automatically cancells it think the time is 2 days, hope this helps Tow bar, roof bars, side steps, tow bar storage unit.

Very helpful - thank you
Pete - I'm based off Junction 17 of the M4 - how would we get together to get this implemented?
SWMBO thinks it's a grand idea - a toasty warm car first thing in the morning!
Me...........I'll still need my thick coat and gloves in the Defender 59 Disco 4 HSE

Ohh , you are some distance away
The furthest south ill be going again this year up to now is Peterborough Landrover show in September, unless of courseyou are fancying a trip up to Yorkshire.
The dates for the show are on my web page www.bellautoservices.co.uk if you can make it ?
Im also away next weekend at Linconshire at the Manby show of which the dates are also on my site.
I hope this may help logisticly.

RichardB wrote:Since having the updates applied by Pete to my XS, I now seem to be able to access (sometimes) the off-road navigation functionality. I wasn't really expecting this as I'd assumed it required the full premium nav system.
I'm interested if there is/was somekind of key sequence already known on standard XSes that revealed this functionality (like ther is for the 4x4 screen at ignition on).
So, I figured out how to access the Off-Road navigation option from my BAS updated system:
When using the Navigation system (i.e. on-screen) press the hard Nav button again and a new screen pops up with two soft button options; namely On-road and Off-Road navigation. Pressing off-road seems to give access to all the premium nav off-road functions (looking at what the manual says about this stuff). To revert to On-Road, simply press the same hard Nav button again.
I'm not sure if this is how the premium (i.e. HSE) nav options work - the manual is a bit vague on this but I think it might be.
I'd be interested if this only happens for BAS modified XS systems or whether this works for standard XS's. In either case, hope this is useful to others as it's not blindingly obvious.

Set timed heat last night and came out of work at 0710. Wind was blowing and it felt chilly, approached car could hear the heater running opened car and it definitely felt warm inside, engine temp was reading normal running temp when ignition was put on. Started car and selected manual fan to face area immediately hot air blowing onto face, suspect that this will save on engine wear from cold starts
Spot on Pete well done. Tow bar, roof bars, side steps, tow bar storage unit.

Good to have it confirmed that this is how the premium nav works on the HSE. Not surprised you hadn't found this as it doesnt seem to be part of the main menu structure but is triggered separately
However, whilst it's nice to have, I can't see myself making extensive use of the off-road features as the underlying mapbase isn't really suited to this. It would be different if it held the sort of topological detail shown on a 1:50000 OS map!
Any XS owners out there to confirm whether this is / is not available on standard XS setup?
