Pete... Looking for a bit of advice on fitting of the remote control unit you recently supplied. I haven't yet taking things apart yet - saving that for the weekend! But before I start could I clarify a couple of things:
- I recall you mentioning the unit plugs in to a connector behind the rear boot trim in the driver's side. What's the best way of accessing this? Does the top lid/shelf piece pop off or something else?
- You mentioned that the antenna wire then should be pushed in behind the trim on the C pillar. Do I have to take this trim off? (i.e. there is a big sticky pad on the end - how/where did you mount this?) Any tips on trim removal if this is necessary.
- Finally, what's the sticky label for the fuel cap meant to be all about???
Thanks for any tips. If I don't end up cursing, I'll post some pics to help others you may supply to.

Just installed the remote control box in the back of the car. Found the plug for the unit ok and plumbed in the aerial behind the C pillar trim. I'll post some pics once I've put it back together (need to replace a couple of yellow trim clips that broke )
Had a bit of a blond moment when trying to pair the plipper with the unit. Spent about 30 mins looking for a fuse to pull to interrupt voltage to the box. Went and had coffee, and before realising that pulling cable back out and putting back in does the same job. Sorted. All working.

Pete, if I have a GSM remote and a spare remote - are you able to setup it up. or can i do it myself. i guess its a case of connecting the outgoing power from the GSM remote to the remote to simulate a button press.
but where on the remote would i connect to ??
cheers Duncan

oooooooo......
i no electronics guru but i guess its just a case of wiring up the GSM (out) signal to the remote widget
It should be a lot easier than the D3 mod as the GSM and remote can be sited anywhere as long as there is a 12v feed for the GSM.
keep me posted please, it is sometning I definatly want done before the cold weather arrives Duncan

did install the remote blip today, was not really hard tbh. the whole side panel underneath the side window needs to come off or at least make room so u can see inside.
then theres a black box rahter largeish underneath with a whole load of wiring underneath.
within those wires you will find a plug hidden in a protective gray foam wrap, unwrap that and
plug it in. side panel goes back on after glueing the antenna to the side window and hiding the wire under
the c-pillar cover.
done deal
then i plugged in my mvs2 unit which powered ok and then because of its usb->serial adapter had a bluescreen on my mac (before u ask, theres win7 on the mac)
out came trusty hp and that worked a treat, i read the vehicle config file, changed the option parking heater to installed and uploaded the config via the mvs2 to the car.
a few flickers of the dash later i was presented with a couple of fault codes that i quickly erased and thought that was it.
well......not quite.................
- the timed heater was available in the menu first, and is now grayed out
- phone says it aint installed although theres a original bluetooth in it
- language forgot german alltogether, now only english, french, italian and spanish
any ideas what i done wrong ?

Spit
Please explane more:
- the timed heater was available in the menu first, and is now grayed out
- phone says it aint installed although theres a original bluetooth in it
- language forgot german alltogether, now only english, french, italian and spanish
- Manual heat & Manual vent on 2nd screen not available with key on ?
- Phone not connected to bluetooth yet after ecu resets ?
- Language needs resetting as does the clock and date after ccf edit ?
Or maybe your trusty HP has caused these write errors !! or MSV2 user error in the nicest possibile way
Email me your CCF and EUCD both modifyed and original, also re read your CCF and EUCD and email me those.
Also what version of VE are you using ? did you sync the pcm afterwards ?

just had some time to get back onto the discovery
i think i found the culprit pete..... the hp through its keyspan usb<->serial adapter
apparently did not fully programm the car as since i reprogrammed it with my modified
file german came back alive even danish and some others....
blipper is also doing its thing ok it seems, now for me to check the
EUCD file aswell as that is almost blank (Undefinded) ??
i will let u know in a few minutes when i reprogrammed that aswell
sync the pcm
***REVISED ACTION: both files sent to Pete (Bellauto) as he is the only one who can do it professionally.... *********
