Quick question -D3 —> D4 body shapes

Hi all, quick question

Did the window shapes or sizes change from the 2004-2009 D3 and D4’s over to the 2010 D4?

As far as I know the structure stayed the same through the two runs.

Just ordering a full set of fitted window shades and the 2010 D4 ones get here when I need them

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B09JW8...&psc=1

Cheers

Wow, that was a good price at £70.

I’ve got the full 8 set of the UK (Walkers) thermal blinds and they’re £175.

How well do they block the light (mainly the fit around the edges, I appreciate that they are opaque everywhere else)? I've got DIY self-adhesive blackout material for the second row for camping, but if they're a snug fit I'd pay £70 to save the hassle of making them for the rest of the windows!

Hmm, I to would be interested in seeing the fit on these.
Any pictures of them fitted would be ace!

Dropped some them onto the car and took a couple of photos.

They’re a decent fit, and definitely better than my home made ones for the second row and rear.
As Dennis is a HSE with the glass roof I’m never going to make it dark but they’re mainly for privacy and to keep the majority of the sun out.

Looks good, but think I can see why these are cheaper than my £175 set.

Mine have a grey felt/carpet backing, however having said that, as these are only used on a temporary basis, they’d certainly do the job …… unless mine also reflect the heat more and stop the cabin overheating.
But we are in the UK and I don’t think there’s a chance of that (even in our hottest summer nights)

So for me, I’d def go with those Amazon £70 ones (if I didn’t have a set already)

Thanks for the photos - looks absolutely fine for a bit of camping, particularly for the money. I've got extremely heavy tints in the back (from a previous owner) so I reckon they'd be all but invisible from the outside too. I reckon I'll invest in a set.

I recall reading a warning on here about the clear plastic suckers acting as a lens and burning holes in the seats, which I believe was solved by going over bits that poke through with a sharpie, perhaps something to bear in mind.

I too am blessed/cursed with the pano glass roof. Always wanted a D3 with one until I got one, now I'm not so sure. It's an awful lot of fragile (I understand it's non-tempered) glass to have on the roof of a 4x4 that gets used as such, particularly since you don't even get the full effect from inside. Looks good when you look down on the car from an upstairs window, but that's about it.

In any case I have a solution for the light pollution - buy a roll of this stuff:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B08P5R...&psc=1

By happy coincidence it's the perfect width for the rear sunroofs (make sure you order the right one!). You can cut it to perfectly fit as many of the windows as you like and use the static adhesion to hold it on, then peel it off in the morning, then re-attach in the evening, but for the sunroofs I just cut a piece as follows:

...left the backing on it and slotted it up behind the blind, then carefully rolled the blind forward whilst pulling it down:

Before:

After:

Total blackout! You may also notice the LEDs in the trim by the tailgate, borrowed that idea from another of your threads! I've got them wired in two banks, one into the boot and one projecting out the rear, with rocker switches that allow them to either come on and off with the courtesy lights or be powered directly from the aux battery when stationary. Works a treat.
