That all changed from MY07 (or was it 08 ) onwards, once some boffin at LR realised that when the phone is live you have lost the clock. Lights on light was 07 onwards ISTR. Can maybe be ar$ed a bit.

And you can see they also have faulty external temp sensors as that pic was taken in Cheshire before the trip! Can maybe be ar$ed a bit.

MY07 had the large clock in the bottom-centre of the display (sometimes ) and the green lights-on indicator. (as per Gareth's pic)
MY08 changed the LCD display and stuck the clock in the top-left hand corner
