|
Hi all. Am looking at getting a spare wheel carrier swing away made and need to know how to remove the skin from the rear bumper. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

EASY AS ONE TWO THREE, it the same as on a D3
you just have to :
- unbolt the 4 bolts at the bottom of it (you'll see them from underneath,
- take the rearlights off to gain access to 2 bolts (one each side)
- remove screws seen in the wheel arches / at the end of the bumper by the wheel, look for the screw underneath ( I thinkg you must take mud flaps off to do so, TBC)
- pop the plastic "nails" from under the flap that covers the lower part of the rear door (the piece of trim that is between the floor and the inside of the sais lower rear door. Be carfull not to ruin them.
- unplug the PDC loom (plug behind the LH side rearlight )
once it is all gone, get someone to hold the bumper at one corner while you pull the other corner outward then down.
Then ask the other person to do so
Be carefull if you have PDC as cables are running through the cover, so DO unplug them from the loom, the main plug is seen behind the LH side rearlight
Here you go.
Now, next time I am in Townsville, you'll take me for a boat ride to see the coral, as last time the sea was too bad...
