| BT connection active after locking the doors w keyfob ? |
|
This has annoyed me a couple of times now : Phone is connected to BT module in car. I leave the car and lock it. Pick up phone outside car to make a call, no audio. Try again, then realising that the audio is still routed through D3 BT module. Is there a way to program the module to shut down when locking the car with keyfob ? Searched and found lots of threads on connection setup issues, none on releasing....The D3 is a MY2008 SE with factory fitted BT.

The module is connected to the wake up wire on the car ...so it only starts up when you ulock the doors ...and switches off when the car goes to sleep ( clock on radio / handbrake light out ).
You can swap a wire over on the bluetooth module so it only comes on when the ignition is on ...but the downside of that is you then cannot use the radio ( volume ) untill the ignition is on . G4 Gone ...but not forgotten
*New D4 Bluetooth modules ...Pm me for details*

well DSL I guess you are spot on there
I've had the D3 for about a month and love it. The "characteristics" of my other LR (a 1986 RRC) is that bits stop working in random order or fall off. On the D3 one of the windshield wipers slams into the A-pillar regularly when it rains a lot and the cruise control isnt operating with what you'd call surgical precision. But so far that's just "charming"

You get used to it, remember phoning SWMBO from in PCWorld and she was talking to the car. ISTR it's only 90 seconds you have to be aware of. Agreed it is annoying. Can maybe be ar$ed a bit.

Easiest option to get phone disconnect from D3 BT is to switch of BT on phone when leaving D3.
This means you will have to switch it back on when get in D3, but configure phone properly and should only take 2 secs, phone & car will connect on own.
This will also help improve phone batt life.

yes, I was also considering switching off BT as a Plan B. Wiggs, thank you for the tip on the wiring as well, good to know there's a more permanent solution if this drives me mad...

Just sounds like the arm needs to be repositioned on the drive spline. Should only take a couple of minutes.

Forgot to mention, if you got the Land Rover Used Car Warranty, the the cruise control switch should be covered under that.
Had mine done about a month ago, works evertime now.

Why don't you just move 10 meters from the motor ? It's not far honest Exceptional claims demand exceptional evidence ~ There are no facts; only interpretations of facts.

Also caught me out this afternoon - I was on the phone as I walked towards the D3, wife and dog were ahead and keen to get in, so I 'plipped' the plipper, then there was nobody on the phone anymore! I had to get in the car PDQ and switch on the radio to continue the conversation.

well, it's more of a problem of me forgetting that its connected than being too lazy to walk 10+ meters
About the windshield wipers, I just tried shifting the offending one. Loosened the nut, and then there's 10-20 degrees of free movement of the arm. Is something worn badly, or is that normal ? Anyway, moved it to suitable location and tightened nut again, seems to be OK now. I just expected that I had to remove arm completely and shift one tooth on a splined section. It's still under warranty...
Thanks all,
/Peter
