Mine too is 'personal money' - don't regret it a bit
i'm going to change mine in November for another Disco3, that one will take me through to the 2009 MY, as has been reiterated many times, later builds have all the existing issued engineered out.
Yes, there will always be premature component failures, but that is a completely different thing to fundemental design or build flaws. I think it is a tribute to LR that the vast majority of issues can be cured with a software upgrade and that most 'hard' issues are due to supplier assembly problems or assembly line QA, both of which can and have been quickly addressed so far. I started to write a lengthy post about my cars excellent reliability and the nature of forums blah blah blah, surfice to say that if Mr Landcruiser searches Toyota forums he might start to understand the very nature of forums!
I hope he does buy a Toyota he will be the envy of........?

I am suggesting a sticky A-Z of LR dealers with a 'marks out of 10' rating beside it and a descending list of chart positions. No solicitors, no libellous stories, just an average rating according to members dynamic input sourced from each individual members experience.
Consider it like an ongoing Poll on each dealer, all collated into one chart.
Am I alone in thinking this would be a worthwhile addition to the site?
In the two wheel world, Ride Magazine do this every year with votes from their readership and there is nothing the dealers can do about it. In fact, the winners positively revel in it...

as long as it's clearly individual 'opinions', there shouldn't be a problem, maybe something like the quality surveys that LR's marketing machine send out after using LRA or warranty work? after all, they get fed back to the dealer (unless you tick the box not to) and i've not heard of anyone being sued yet TorqTune

I agree this would be FANTASTIC.... I would love to name and shame my dealer so that others can take heed and would love to know where there are very good LR dealers, of course it would be good if the scores in some way visible so that if I had issues people could see it was me who downgraded them and if need be contact me for details - think this is critical for system not to be abused.
also would be good if you could change your score for a dealer if you found they improved. 2004 TDV6 HSE Auto Zambezi Silver

25,500 miles and it was all going so well!
Now the front passenger door won't open. Seems to be a problem the dealer has heard of before, ho hum, dealer picking it up on Tuesday.
I now refuse to make any more visits to the dealer, they pick it up, fix it and return it now. Disco 3 on order
