I'd just like to say I've got no problems with my D3 at all!
In fact, just this week I've had two people come up and ask about it, what its like to drive, would I recommend it etc. Well, its great and I would!
Its the best car I've ever had, and I literally do smile to myself EVERY time I get behind the wheel.
Long live the Permagrin! iDiot Bater

Me!!! Give me a change!
At the risk of being branded a die hard pro LR freak, I've got a D3 HSE Auto & wife has a D3 S Auto. Both cars have performed without any major problems (2 minor ones with mine, none with wife's) & we are both very happy with them. My local LR dealer is excellent (they know how fussy I am as the looked after my last D2 & Defender) so no problems there. Thety fitted what we wanted exactly and will be with us for many years. I have no regrets & would recommend them to anyone. If I have problems (not many makes do not) so be it & the dealer will sort it.

Just done the M6 from Stafford to Chester; faultless as ever, 21mpg yes, there was a lot of traffic which, limited my progress. (by the way I am pleased with 21mpg ).
Car has recently been valetted and shines like new; the number of admiring glances I got and finger points (mostly the nice variety)....... well it kinda makes you feel good.
That's why I love my D3.
Right, I'm off to marry it now. D3 HSE V8...

Although I have only had mine for two weeks now I am completely smitten. It is an awsome car with real character and I am delighted I went for it.
550 miles down and looking foward to it loosening up and being fully run in.
I certainly llok for any excuse to drive it to experience the permagrin.

Mine has also been perfect now for over 16000 km, no faults at all during the last 5 months. Great to drive, pressure to own. Far better than boring Land Cruiser or some anemic SUV could ever be.
There was some teething issues when the car was brand new but looks that SW updates, compressor model change and that cardan axle change fixed all those.
Offroader -- too many modifications made to my Disco 3 to be listed in here --

Hardly got above 50 or 60 and pretty much constant. I've averaged higher than this on a good run (and not in a hurry).
I wont post tyical mpgs though... not before the watershed. D3 HSE V8...

Simply the best....Better than all the rest......
Yes, I am a die hard Land Rover nut of 20 years. I expected a few software issues but after 9 months and 9000 miles, it's just perfect. No enhancement yet, don't need one!
Thanks to this forum I had the confidence to buy and I'm keeping it for at least 5 years. D3 gone for now
