Feeling Guilty

I have a confession -

I was in High Wycombe today just after a heavy storm.

The road near the Handy Cross roundabout was flooded - there was a white van stuck in the middle up to the top of the wheels, so about 500mm I guess. There were also several cars broken down either side of it.

There were still quite a few cars approaching - so what did I do?

I know I should have behaved public spiritedly and warned the guy in the Hyundai Coupe, but I thought clearly he would see the problem and wouldn't attempt to go through........

I must publicly apologise Embarassed .... another Hyundai Coupe bites the dust.

Even more so as I have hurt my back and could not offer to push or tow him out of the mire.

Needless to say the Disco took the crossing in its stride - and I am sorry about the bow wave that broke against the red van, but he had already stopped terminally.

Embarassed

Happened to me a couple of years back when I had my D2. An underpass had flooded, a row of cars were stopped on the inside lane, so I powered through on the outside, loving every second Very Happy - until the bow wave hit the wall about 3 feet from my open drivers' window...... I probably was not really fit enough to be driving but I had not been out in the D3 for a week and was getting withdrawal symptoms.

got me thinking this one... If you were in say 2 foot of water and stopped. how could you open the tailgate from the inside to pass someone a towrope without getting wet? you used to be able to do it with the old disco. Confused

I thought there was an emergency release for the rear tailgate on the inside - not sure where or how easy to get to it is. Confused Question

ahhaa

"Tailgate emergency unlock
Simultaneously pressing both the master lock
and unlock switches (on dash) for three seconds will
cause the upper tailgate to release. This is an
emergency release function in case the tailgate
exterior release switch becomes inoperative."
