When my D3 is cold and I'm driving to work in the morning my steering is lumpy until it gets warm. Does anyone else have this?

Yeah that was the first thing I checked. When I took delivery of the car the steering was out and felt awful so it had a four wheel alignment etc. but it just doesn't feel right when it's cold.

Has this only started recently? could be wear in a ball joint if so.
Could also be due to tyre wear TorqTune

Don't think it would be but can't be sure, had the alignment done at 900 miles which improved things but noticed it after that. Not got any worse, car has done 2300 miles now.

OK, let's go back a step...
By 'lumpy' I'm assuming that you mean that the steering becomes tighter, then looser as you turn the wheel? is this at all speeds or just low speed manovering?
if you run your hand round the inner edge of the tyre surface (not the sidewall) does it feel castellated? TorqTune

Been out and checked the tyres, they all seem fine.
By lumpy I mean sort of hard then soft. And the car seems to pull to the left and feel easier to turn in one direction than the other. After about 10 miles it seems fine.
I'm taking the car to the dealers on Thursday to have another problem fixed but i didn't want to mention it if they're all like it

This happens to mine too. But not all the time. Often when I've gone from off road height to road height.
