Hi I am thinking of buying a Disco 4 GS and wondered if anyone had any interior pics with black leather?

It'll spend weeks in the dealer while they poke it and prod it, update the software 50 times, give you a worn out RRS to drive and you'll still have the same faults you had a year before........then you can be just like me!!!!

9 weeks in the dealer so far this year, still not right Worst £54K I have ever spent. Now where did I put that LandCruiser V8 brochure............!

...or you could just drive around in it and put fuel in it every 400-odd miles.

Mine seems OK so far. But it is a D3, and it's the Alpaca interior, not black, so not the same at all... Mr. Green

My D4 has a black leather interior and has been faultless* so far with 9000km on the clock (8 months). So any problems other members are having are probably not linked to interior colour scheme.

Why do you want pictures of the black interior anyway? It's black, all of it. Just black. Black. Like non-LR black too.

(*apart from: lumbar support has stopped working and bluetooth threw a fit for a couple of weeks but has decided to work again today)

NEWBIE! (black trim pic request)

Try this pic in my small gallery - should be able to click on line below if I have learned how to do it properly Shocked

Hope this gives some idea - I'm still shiny newby but I am well chuffed with this car since receiving in June and 7600 miles later. One return visit to dealer with electronic parking brake warning light - Dealer gave me a Freelnder for the morning while software update was done. No other problem since except one freezing morning wen't off in a hurry to have the "reduced power" warning. Parked at next lay-bye - switched everything off for 2 minutes, then didn't welly it untill temp. was at "normal" indication. No further problem. (All without too much worry - thanks to having read others post on here telling me what to do in the event of that happening.)
Only slight disapointment is an average (measured) mpg of 21 (even if half my miles are with 2 tonne Tintent on the back) although the on board computer is consistently optimistic by about 5mpg. (i.e. shows 26mpg when measured tankfill to tankfill mpg = 21). mpg on long runs no caravan is about 27.

Hope you also enjoy your chosen LR Very Happy

Just to give you my hopefully balanced view on the "should I, shouldn't I" quandry.

I was apprehensive about buying a D4 for all the usual reasons after having two ultra reliable BMWs, but I was seduced by a test drive. Well what can I say, within 24hours of driving a brand new D4 home, I get a warning light that needs 11days in the workshop to resolve.

However, that was two months ago and right now I am blown away by it. The initial hassle has been forgotten and I would say that it is quite the best car Ive owned. Aside from the practicality of the thing, its the refinement that impresses me the most.

So I'd say go for it, but with eyes wide open. I think finding a service agent that can resolve problems without needing support from LR is half the battle. The root cause of most customer dissatisfaction seems to be the repeated and extended trips to gets things fixed, while other owners appear untroubled. That doesnt point to the car being fundamentally flawed, but rather a broken support model.

We have two cars and change them every 2-3 years. These have included Audi, BMW and Jaguar. So far, the Disco has been the most reliable based on the time period I have owned it.

Every brand has its niggles. Many seem to think that the Disco 3 was the testing model for all the new parts and the problems that occurred with that were fixed with the Disco 4.
