Prices not yet set so LR website not updated. Its nice and quick and reasonably fuel economic - probably drinks no more than the V6 in reality.

Disco3 getting it? Next year sometime?

I had a chat with some LR people yesterday, there is a possibility that D3 will get it, but not for a while. Price in FFRR will be about the same as the 4.4 petrol not as much as the SC though. Real world performance is likley to be similar though Cool

So that would put a V8 diesel HSE Disco3 at £48.5k. £5k off at £43.5k for a transaction price?

Hmm not sure the comparison comes through for the D3 and it would be some time before discounts were offered I bet. Crying or Very sad

S'pose they'll pension the V8 off then if that arrives in D3 clothing? No chance of SC variant I bet Crying or Very sad

No I think they will keep the petrol version. Look at RRS how many 4.4 are there very few most petrol owners get the SC, I think you will see the same with D3 but 3 engines (4 if you count the smaller petrol engine in the US)

Sorry Owl, RRS not for me, I might be tempted with a FFRR though but I would probably buy preowned.

I think that Land Rover are looking after us D3 owners. When you think about it, if we get the TDV8 in 12 months, all of the upgrades and issues will have been fixed by then and we can have trouble free motoring!!

TDV6 is such a cruiser with the auto box that the V8 would have to blow me away to make me want one.

640Nm of torque would blow you away. As I understand it the set up has got rid of the lag too. As it is a very similar engine I assume there would be no issues, my 06 hasn't had any in any case.

As a tow car I should think it will be amazing, but I still don't think it will appear in D3 Crying or Very sad

Do you have the figures for the effect of a T Chip in TDV^ on torque figures or is it mainly a bhp boost?
