its been back at the dealers. No faults found, although they put the door trim back on.
Its now snowing and yet again the heated seats are still not working and now the heating system only blows air in the footwells no matter what you put it on. 
Not overly bothered as its under warranty.
Anyone had any similar issues?

Nope.
But I'd be interested to hear what the reason was... Have the fixed it?

Seems to be OK now. I think it might be a loose wire under the seat as it happens when we change drivers.
When they plugged it in at the garage, no faults showed.
