Think that we've covered that one before - back in the days.
As I recall, UK models do not have the tilt sensor.

Ok, so getting back to the point, how much of the plug looking thing actually comes out of the socket? Is it just the small piece with the wires going into it, or the larger piece? Also, is the small plug retained with anything. I have given the plug a good old tug, but did not budge. I guess cutting those pipes out the way would be a bad idea, but access would be much easier. But shouldn't the battery backup only kick in if the alarm has been triggered and then the power is disconnected?
By removing the Volvo sounder, are we loosing the battery backup facility? Matt

Right, the sounder on mine is the one without the tilt sensor, yes, by disconnecting it (the whole plug comes out, use a small screwdriver to depess the locking tab just above the wires) you lose the battery backup bit, your choice really, hear it and 'risk' losing the battery backup in the event of battery disconnection or not hear it -even after battery disconnection

Choice

I haven't looked at mine yet, but is there any way the existing sounder can be moved outside the box so it is louder? I suppose the wiring isn't long enough. Matt
