Thought I would be joining the ranks after having an offer on a 10 month old 'S' verbally accepted on a private sale yesterday.
He even agreed that I could bring the deposit over today and shake hands on it.
I had driven the 60 minutes the night before and decide to buy.
Got the kids and other half crammed in my car and headed over this morning all excited and  .
Half way........guess what....................he phoned me and told me he'd accepted a better offer and not to bother wasting my time coming over! 
What a complete W***ER.
Even the kids were upset.
Still, it is making me think now I should buy new and save the hassle.

Out of interest, what price was he after and how many miles had his car done & was it an auto. LR dealers seem very keen to do deals on new D3's right now and run out 06 stock may be around at a healthy discount. Look at VA's thread a few days ago where he was asking around for what deals are out there ..... Disco 4 TDV6HSE

Smarticus, the car was manual, 8000 miles and around £25K.
I have been offered a new XS from a local dealer of under £30K. Metallic paint inc....which I'm beginning to think is a bloody good deal.
What do you think?

You can get a brand new base model for £27,000 less if you look around! Do not touch LR finance you can get better deals. Loving the power of the TDV8!

I really wanted S/XS spec as a minimum, and quite like the spec changes in the XS. (folding mirrors, roof rails etc) but not the £655 price rise!
Still I dont think I am going to be able to better the price quoted, it matched the best I could find on tinternet.
Waiting to see the new wheel designs also.
As anyone seen them yet?
