| squeaky brakes with 10K on the clock |

Hey all!
Had to take the D4 in for warranty work a couple of weeks ago. Every time I put the brakes on in reverse they squeak like mad - LR replaced the pads but has made no difference so its got to go back in.
I dont have the time to keep taking it back, so want to get to the bottom of it. Anyone else had this prob? 2010 registered thanks!!!

Mine have done it since the first couple of hundred miles (currently got 1,500 from new on the clock). They only do it first thing and if I let the brakes off and re-apply them, they're fine. Trouble is that my D4 is garaged overnight and if I let them off fully I'd likely whack the garage door on the way out so the neighbours get a rude awakening either way ! Disco 4 HSE SD V6

Mine have done it from new Sep 2009! Caffyns Lewis have had it back twice without a fix. My last conversation with the service manager (Jan 2011) informed me that LR are aware of the problem but as yet no fix is available, however he did mention that there is "a dirty fix" this involves fitting D3 rear calipers & pads. They haven't done this themselves but do know of some stealers who offer this solution. I have chosen to wait for the "new" fix when and if it happens!! New boy on the block D4 3.0 HSE cameras,Hybrid TV, 20" alloys, heated wheel, privacy, Tow pack.
Departed RRS TDV8 HSE Full Arden kit in TEAL and colour coded everyting.
Departed Disco 3 2.7 HSE

Same with mine _ - I've got to reverse out of garage down slope so end up probably waking neighbours in morning. been into dealers and response is " they all do it and no proper fix yet".

The squealing brakes are a known issue and LR will change the calipers under warranty. Mine, before the warranty fix, were particularly bad in reverse.

Not a problem I've noticed though I tend to reverse park most places - at work cos elfin safety reckon it's best, at home cos it is safer when leaving in the morning.
Will have to test sometime, just in case I'm misisng out

Just spoken to Caffyns regarding the squeaky rear brake problem.....again.......this time I was informed the fix is here  they are fitting MY2011 rear calipers and pads, only problem is the rear left caliper is on factory back order  I can wait NOT to here the awful squeak again  New boy on the block D4 3.0 HSE cameras,Hybrid TV, 20" alloys, heated wheel, privacy, Tow pack.

Ah - I thought it was just me. The only time my brakes squeek is when I reverse out of the drive in the morning at low speed, and apply the brakes. Started at around 10k miles - still doing it at nearly 17k.
Not mentioned it to the dealer, as been too busy sorting the more pressing issues. Am hoping it will fade away in time. 747_JK

I'm getting that squeaking on reversing first thing in the morning too.....7.5K on the clock....not too much of a problem as it's only reversing off the drive and then ok the rest of the day

Had the issue from day one and has not got any worse. Will talk to the dealer about tit though as the issue has been raised by others. MY12 D4 HSE

Fitting the MY11 brakes etc probably won't fix it.... unless my MY11 D4 was fitted with MY10 running gear when it was built  Disco 4 HSE SD V6
