Is it possible to not have the Tow Assist functions enabled when having all the relevant options?
I have a MY11 D4 complete with the full surround camera system and for the first time today I hitched it up to a trailer to see what would happen with the Tow Assist. Now I know I should have this and this was one of the selling points on the surround cameras.
When I plugged the electrics in I got no options to set a trailer up, also there is no option in the camera menu for anything tow or triailer related.
I've even had to resort to checking the manual and can only think the option isn't enabled somewhere in the CCF.
I'm quite happy to take it to the dealer to have a word but as I'm not going to be able to get there for a couple of weeks and I'm pretty sure there's a hell of a lot more knowledge in here than I will get from them I thought I'd ask the question?

Had to have mine re enabled twice by dealer in last twelve months. MY12 D4 HSE
MY11 D4 HSE
D3 S spec
Tow bar, full length roof bars, side steps, tow bar storage unit, surround camers.

It should be there if you have the tow package with your D4 - first time I plugged the caravan electrics in the system sprang into life  LR Discovery 4 XS pulling an Airstream 532 Caravan also own (since new) a 1996 MGF

Looks like it's a back to the dealer job then to get it enabled. Everything's fitted that should be for it to be there so guess it's just enabling it.
How come you had to have it enabled twice? Did it just disappear after a while or did something cause it to be disabled again?

disapeared each time after a visit to the dealers. seems they reflashed the electronics but did not do it for D4 with tow assist MY12 D4 HSE

Guys ,
Did you get anywhere with this , I checked out the Youtube Video but my screen looks different , guess that might be a MY2012 thing though , i think they updated the system , right ?
The dealer has just sent me a Target sticker through the post as I didn't get one when I bought it , so that is one piece solved.
However , when I plugged the caravan in i didn't get a pop up as it appears in the video , do you ?
I can get to the option where you can see the trailer types etc... so does that mean it is activated ?
The info available on this system is very bad , little to nothing in the manual , or even on the web , wonder if that means it is so bad no body uses it
Any advice to offer ?

you need to have this icon to start with ( tow assist )
ignore the blue camera screen ...i just havent plugged it in after using my trailer last time
You need to select one of these
then edit it with your trailer details
that it ...each time a trailer is connected it will ask you which one it is .
gives you this view aswell when hitching up ( this may be standard on all surround cameras ..cant remember )
then it will show you 2 sets of lines once you are connected ...the car and the trailer ...and the predicted way they are going to go ,when you turn the steering wheel ( not got a piccy of that i dont think ) G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

Wiggs ,
I have the Icon but it is a different colour to the rest and you can't select it , not sure if that is cos there is no trailer connected or only the default profiles or it is disabled
Any idea ?
