Al - they didn't have the correct cycle rack for both the bikes and the caravan

Interesting phenomen and one I have experienced too. Used to drive 60 miles to work every day on the M42 and when the vairable speed limit was in force journey times were usually shorter, the only exception being when the motorway was empty (e.g. coming home late at night) ! much more relaxed too
